This Surah was revealed in Madinah and contains 78 ayahs. Like Surah Anbiya, this Surah begins with mention of the terrors of the next world to wake the heedless from their ignorance. Then it dwells into the Resurrection followed by the different fundamentals of hajj and the significance of the house of Allah subhanahu wa ta’ala. The next few ayahs sanctions Muslims to fight in the path of Allah subhanahu wa ta’ala and gives the reasons behind that. The Surah then talks about the greatness of Allah subhanahu wa ta’ala and narrates an example of the helplessness of other deities and finally calls mankind towards complete submission to Allah subhanahu wa ta’ala.
