Dr. Abdul Hai Arifi was amongst the most prominent khulafa of Hakeemul Ummat Maulana Ashraf Ali Thanvi. He was born in U.P., India in 1898 to a conservative Muslim family.
He finished the Holy Quran when he was only 7 years old before continuing his education and earning a law degree. He discontinued practicing law after 9 years and instead became a homeopathic physician which he continued for the remainder of his life.
His biggest accomplishments, however, were the result of his time spent with Hakeemul Ummat during which he gained tremendous knowledge as well as training. He spent a great deal of time in the company of his sheikh and was eager to become purified through Tazkia. His extreme devotion and sincerity set him apart from others and received the special attention of his sheikh. He continued this work of Tazkia by supervising and training many individuals to live the life in which one achieves the pleasure of Allah SWT. He also served as patron of Darul-Uloom Karachi.
He lived a very productive and exemplary life. He left this world after a short illness on March 27, 1986. His final resting place is located in the Darul-Uloom Karachi graveyard. May Allah SWT be pleased with him. Ameen.
